There are a lot of reasons that a photographer may decide to convert an image black and white: mixed lighting, highlighting textural backgrounds, etc. However, it is also one of my favorite tools to use to draw the viewer's attention to the emotion captured. As you meander through some of my favorite images from Anna and Paul’s day, I encourage you to stop and delight in the emotion highlighted in those classic black and whites. That is where the story comes alive :)
Marriage is above all things: a sacrament; a visible sign of God’s grace here on Earth. How do I even choose the right words to describe the joy surrounding Anna+ Paul's marriage? Simple. It’s Love. The love of their parents, love of family and friends, love of The Church, it was absolutely everywhere on that gorgeous Saturday in June.
All of this is a long way of describing the first day of Paul and Anna’s marriage as a beautiful example of the way husband and wife were designed to cherish one another. From two beautiful marriages, Paul and Anna learned to slow down and care for everyone around them. There were so many times throughout the day that I saw both of them stop to serve their guests. Whether Anna was chatting with an inquisitive flower girl or Paul was helping to hold her gown, Paul and Anna were completely present in all of the craziness that is a wedding day :)
If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you’ve probably figured out that I am a HUGE fan of classic wedding traditions. Since Anna and Paul decided not to contact each other prior to their Ceremony, their first look at the Altar was incredibly sweet and I’m sure a moment that either of them will neither forget!
A picture perfect day; as a photographer and friend, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I hope you enjoy all of the emotional images from their day and join me in thanking the new Mr. and Mrs. Kraus for celebrating what is truly important when beginning a new life together. I’d say they made marriage look pretty good too :)
Congratulations Anna and Paul and many blessings on your new life together!!
Many thanks to all of the Vendors that made their day possible!
